J Street Announces SharePoint Capabilities

I started a new job a few days ago. Here is the formal announcement from the J Street Tech blog.

“J Street Technology, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, is pleased to announce SharePoint capabilities, allowing us to help small, medium, and large organizations leverage the SharePoint platform to improve business productivity and efficiency.

Heading up this initiative is Toby Getsch, a Program Manager and SharePoint MCTS with extensive experience deploying, installing, and configuring SharePoint for numerous organizations across a wide range of industries. Toby’s experience with SharePoint dates back to the early 2000’s and he has continued working with all sizes of organizations, from small businesses to large multi-national corporations.

Adding to his SharePoint-specific experience is more than a decade of IT leadership, consulting, advising, and project work. With a particular passion for planning the right strategy and execution, his experience with various engagements fits very well with J Street’s growing SharePoint expertise.”

I’m really excited about this opportunity and I can’t wait to rock and roll! (Yes, I’m talking about SharePoint and rock and roll! They do go together.)

Virgin America had a bad flight. It turned out not to be such a disaster because they (sort of) dealt with it early. United, on the other hand, well they shat on their own faces by being dorks about breaking a guitar.

The power at home just went out for a few seconds. When it came back on, my roommate’s iPod that’s in a little docking station thing with speakers – yeah, it started playing Randy Travis. It’s a lazy Saturday morning. I’m not getting up from the lounge chair in the living room to change it. So, we get a Power Cycle with Randy Travis.

“CAUTION: For use with information technology equipment.” That’s what it says on the bottom of my iPhone USB power adapter. While I think it’s pretty random, it’s probably equally as random that I read that small print on the bottom of that little thing.

I guess I’m not the only one to notice. Ha!

Apple is evil. –> Apple rocks! I love my MacBook Air. I love my iPhone. Good customer service goes a LONG way! Great customer service breads loyalty.
Anthony Bourdain is stupid. –> Anthony Bourdain rules! No Reservations kicks butt. Kitchen Confidential sparked all sorts of creativity. Writing and reading things that stretch my horizons is healthy and productive!
Wisconsin is just another Midwest place. –> Wisconsin is cool for how loyal people are, how simple people are, how honest people are, and how good the beer is. (Believe it or not, in MN, I was asked, “They still make that s&!t?” and told, “I’m surprised we had any of that stuff around.” (That’s in relation to PBR!) That’s practical blasphemy in Sconnieland.
Love not having cold winter. –> Crave a solid, whiteout, HUGE winter! Bring it!
Friends… Some that were thought to be die hards… yeah, they’re totally punk-losers who were only friends on their terms and then faded because life wasn’t exactly what they wanted and they didn’t know what they had, right in front of them… This last “mini transformation” is about being ok with letting people reside in ‘their place’ and not being resentful, but being honest that when people screw you over, they don’t deserve and probably will not get trust again… That says nothing about forgiveness. I forgive. That does not mean I have to trust or that I have to hang around people that hurt me and are bad for me, for life, for society, and for healthy boundaries! Good riddance!

Maybe these are major transformations!?!?

I’m listening to Garrison Keillor’s The Writer’s Almanac. It was easy to fetch via iTunes and have it sync on my new iPhone. I’m inspired, both by the ease with which this technology works, and by the soothing voice of Garrison Keillor. It just seams to put things in perspective… you know, Lake Wobegon and all…
