I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

Windows 7 on a Mac

Windows 7 with Google Chrome via Windows Vista with Virtual PC via MacBook Air with Remote Desktop…  Windows 7 on a Mac!

I figured that blogging about my Geek Fun with Windows 7 should start with a post via Google Chrome.  Actually, IE8 Beta 2, which comes with Windows 7 Beta, crashed the first couple times.  So, I figured that while I was waiting for it to come back up, I’d try to see if I could make more stuff crash and test other software (hehehe), which led to installing Chrome.  (BTW, Chrome has not crashed yet.  Go figure!)  I’m thinking it might be fun to use Remote Desktop on my MacBook Air to remote to my Windows Vista laptop and then run Windows 7 on that laptop via Virtual PC.  Then I just put that full screen and it looks like I’m running Windows 7 on a Mac.  :P

Oh, and let’s see what kind of traffic this link-baited post brings.  That wasn’t the intent, but I realized it was all-full-of-links-n-crap.  BTW, check the alt text for the links.  I think some are funny… or maybe that’s just me.  And, this is still shorter than the 272 words in the Gettysburg Address.  Now, that’s getting “Lost in Profundity”… I digress…  ;)

  1. Let’s hope for Microsoft’s sake that Windows 7 is remotely better than Vista.

And let’s hope for Apple and Steve Jobs’ sake that Steve Jobs gets better.

And what’s up with Google Chrome not being available for use on Leopard . . . boot camp and any virtual crap don’t count.

  2. Hey Disco! Hope you’re doing well in CO. I still need to go visit both my sisters and their families some time soon.

I hope 7 is all around better than Vista. After playing with Mac stuff at home (in addition to living in Vista all day long), I think 7 could use a bit more from the “just works” category. Yeah, I hope Jobs improves. He’s good for creative, for get things done and great for competition! There are a few things (like Chrome) that I wish were available on a Mac. Such is life… can’t always get what you want…
