I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

surprise visit from my folks

My mom and dad stopped by today.  (I’m house sitting in Racine, WI.)  They were passing through on their way back to Minnesota from a wedding in Georgia.  It was good to see them for a little bit.  And, they sure are having some good driving weather!  It’s gorgeous here today.

two calls back

I got two calls back about good project manager jobs in the MIlwaukee area today.  I’m expecting more as “the word gets out” and as I apply for more jobs.  Feel free to check out my updated resume.
And, to the recruiters who are calling, I’m not spilling any info or details about any job searches [...]

wish i had em in college

lots of walking and more great workouts

I’m in the best workout routine I’ve been in for about the past decade. I feel it. It feels healthy, positive and energizing.
I’m also spending more time by water than I have in a LONG time, at least since high school or early college, hanging out at the lake, waterskiing and the like.
I’m [...]

Yes, I know. I have a “phone!”

Couldn’t pass up spreading this around some more.  I often get crap from friends about how I’m online or using my phone for stuff.  Hey, a phone is for more than just breakfast!  (It’s only 71 seconds long.)

Mobile Tricks – What can you do with your phone?

A one hour walk by the beach…

…a few times a week, will change your life.
…could lead you to seeing a couple get married (a few minutes ago).
…could lead you to seeing an old man and his bride strolling along, with huge smiles, just because they can walk and smile.
…could lead you to seing a US Marine recruit do a hard workout [...]

Exciting, Beautiful Day, Full of Change!

The changes in my life over the past couple months, and the changes coming in the next couple months are radical and exciting.  I’m about to download OpenOffice.org, for the first time, ever!   I’ve had amazing connections with Microsoft and have been doing work in IT for more than a decade.  So, here I [...]

I want to travel.

I want to travel around the world.

What do you do when a word of mouth recomendation is hard to come by?

I bet that most of the time you do trial and error, or you become a sucker to ads.  I bet you try to find a recommendation.  Maybe it’s a server in a restaurant.  Maybe it’s a grocery store clerk.  Maybe it’s a random stranger.  If it’s not one of those, I bet you go [...]

Why is word of mouth so important?

I don’t bet.  If I did, these would be some of the bets I might make.

What books have you read lately, and how do you hear about them? I bet someone you know recommended the book or the author.
What movies have you watched recently? I bet you may have decided not to watch one or [...]

I do not miss mosquitoes.

Really, I don’t miss them at all.
That’s worthy of it’s own blog post.

Thoughts on a Sunday Evening

I’m “working away” on a Sunday evening… (new blog header image)

Here are some random thoughts:

I want to see Kung Fu Panda.
I like sunny, warm weather.
Living in Seattle for 6 years, I really missed the sun.
I like outdoor baseball games.
I like lacrosse and hope it becomes more popular.
I like good jazz, especially when it’s outdoors and [...]
