I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

Status Updates

I just added this as my Facebook status.  “Toby is quagmire laden, feeling morose, exhausted, refreshed, enlightened, verbose, confused, capable, smart, hungry, thirsty, and finally some enchanted melancholy.”

  1. I want to find every Boy Scout Handbook and replace “A Scout Is…” with the above list.

In case you forgot, the original goes “A Scout Is…trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.”

    I like your version better!

  2. jimsmuse~ Blame it on Anthony Bourdain! I’ve been reading Kitchen Confidential. It’s like creative writing never looked so non-sharp! :P

  3. Kitchen Confidential is one of my favorites. If you can find it, read his novel Bone In the Throat. The character of the Chef, (clearly a thinly disguised version of Bourdain himself) is talented, arrogant, detestable, and laugh out loud funny all at the same time.

  4. jimsmuse~ I think my reading list is about 6 or 7 books long right now. Some more AB may just have to get bumped up the list. Cheers!
