I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

EQ – Emotional Intelligence

I can’t give enough kudos to this concept – Emotional Intelligence.  I’m continually trying to learn how to be a good coworker and leader, primarily by going this route.  It really differentiates between management and leadership.

Here’s the lead in paragraph, but check out the full article from the Seattle PI.  It even includes a “profile” of the high-EQ leader.  (It’s a quick, one page read.)

Today’s leaders require more than experience, business savvy, IQ and technical skills to be successful. Self- awareness, self-regulation, adaptability and the ability to relate well with others are all qualities that make up emotional intelligence, or EQ — an important skill set to master for anyone interested in leadership development.
