This time it happens to be my younger brother, Tim. And, I do not envy his injury. Tim, our prayers are with you for quick healing.
Fortunately, I got to see his game last week. Unfortunately, there will not be any more. I can relate to ending my competitive basketball career about 6 or so years ago, after I had my 4th surgery on the same knee, all for injuries related to basketball and jogging.
After that last injury, my priorities and focus also shifted. I think it’s fairly common to happen around that time of life. I did try to come back and play a little basketball a year or so ago (maybe it’s two years ago now) and it went ok, except that I hurt my back.
I sure hope Tim can stay healthy. It sounds like he’s got plenty of other things to enjoy.
