If you find the barrage of allow/deny popups annoying, you can turn off User Account Control (UAC).

Many developers have not been developing with the UAC in mind, so sometimes you will get random program crashes or hangs. Disabling UAC on my laptop fixed a bunch of app crashes/hangs.
