I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

Heads up: USA Voice is an elaborate scam!

In my job hunt, I have been contacted by many people and many companies, via various methods.  Today I got a second email from USA Voice.  The first one I deleted because I just didn’t feel comfortable about it.  Both of the emails were in my Junk E-Mail folder.  For today’s email, I did more homework.  Here is the quick and dirty version.

USA Voice is an elaborate scam!

There is no way to get a valid phone number to call anyone, and no direct or even general contacts for anyone in the company are listed anywhere.  The domain name is registered via proxy so you can’t find any info about them that way.  I searched Google and found more info from people who have posted about this, but I don’t think anyone else I know would have gone as far as I did to prove them false and a fraud.  Again, here is the quick and dirty version.

As an aspiring blogger, writer, entrepreneur, and active in my job hunt right now, I’m looking at all sorts of options, and doing many interviews.  Below I’ve pasted the email that they sent me today.  I’ve removed the actual links so that nobody clicks on them.  Also, their web site is usavoice.org.  I’m not linking that one either, because I don’t want any traffic to go there.  Here’s the email…

  1. Yup. USAVOICE is a total scam. The Washington Post just published an article about them showing them to be a phishing operation. Shortly after the Post article, USAVOICE changed its name to WORLDVOICENEWS.com.

Check out my website for the most current information on these guys.

  2. [...] I posted about a scam. I was contacted by a producer of syndicated reports and then interviewed by a local KING5 Sr. Photographer. [...]

Thanks for posting. I was wondering what happened. I was actually writing for USA Voice. Come to think of it, I do remember them changing their name to World Voice USA. I received a paycheck in the amount of $3.00 after complaining about never having been paid for my submissions. The way they described it was that your pay was generated according to the number of hits that came to your specific article. Wow, a scam. What a shame
