I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

JobHunt – "Adventures"

I just learned that some scheduled interviews for next week were not really scheduled or confirmed.  That was news to me.  I also learned that there were some miscommunications about salary expectations, education, and various other work history.  I’m not sure how the information was relayed to this prospective company.  The previous phone interview went very well and was very clear and comfortable.  Just now, it caught me off guard to spend more time correcting the misinformation, rather than discussing a fit or interests or other normal job prospecting sorts of discussions.  I thought we had already covered those basic things, and with decent detail.

I guess it’s all part of the process.  I’m not going to let it discourage me.  However, I did already alter my schedule for next week, in order to accommodate those interviews.  Now, those are pushed out a couple weeks, and are only tentative.

This past week has been filled with expectation and preparation for next week’s interviews.  It’s also been filled with other job prospecting.  I felt really confident about the interviews that were scheduled for next week.  I probably should not have carried as much expectation.  I’m learning that this is all part of the process…

…to be continued…
