I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

Skittles Calves – Huh?

Well, those of you who know me or who know Richard Larson, are probably not asking any questions.  Those of you who don’t, are probably saying, “Huh?”

Last summer, I hiked a little bit with a friend of a friend who became a friend and introduced me to more friends of friends who became friends.  Huh?  Yup… I said it right.

Richard Larson (aka Skittles – as his trail name) is hiking the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) this summer.  Last year he did the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT).  Before that he did the Appalachian Trail (AT).  While Skittles was going through Washington State and a little of Oregon, I met up with him on various weekends and other short trips.  Of anyone I have ever known, Skittles has the largest calves, or at least the most memorable calves.  While hiking, we were talking about posting stuff online.  He came up with a domain name for a web site.

Summer 2005, Enter: SkittlesCalves.com

For the original site I posted some pictures online and did a few other web things last summer.  I don’t have that server any more, and I’m not doing that web site hosting business any more.  So, I have redirected SkittlesCalves.com to Skittles’ TrailJournal home it’s at now.

Point being, I just caught up on some reading Skittles’ TrailJournal from his first month out on the CDT (up to this entry), and thought I’d pass along some link love and also point it out to some friends and family who may not have known about it or haven’t paid attention to it in a while.

Cheers Skittles!  Keep up the good hiking.  Happy Trails!
