I was just out for my daily walk and was thinking about how there are some things we do (or probably should do if we’re not) and it really doesn’t have to be an exact routine and it doesn’t have to be just right. Here are a few examples.
- Exercise: It doesn’t have to be a “workout” in a gym. We just need to get out and move around and spend time not doing the same things we do every day.
- Writing: If anyone ever has an interest in writing, starting with “anything” is part of what it takes to get the creative juices going. Even starting with, “I can’t think of anything to write. I hate when I can’t think of anything to write. Every time I’m hungry, I can’t think of anything to write. Speaking of hungry, last night I ate at…” See, it gets the creative juices going.
- Keeping in touch: Old friends are out there. Sometimes just a voice mail or email saying, “Hi. I was just thinking of you.” can be a nice pick-me-up.
- Cleaning: Many times there is a lot of cleaning and chores to do. Just starting with one thing, like putting shoes away can get it started to move on to other things.
So, there were 4 things of “just anything” that when started, can move us in the direction we really want to go. What other things can you think of for this sort-of-random list?
