In this article, the comment that sticks out to me is this.
“The big push now is for developers to recode Web sites and Web applications to cater for the browser update.
If not, users won’t be able to directly interact with Microsoft ActiveX controls loaded by the APPLET, EMBED or OBJECT elements without first activating the user interface with an extra mouse click.”
“A white paper detailing the ActiveX changes has been published on the MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network).“
It’s already affecting a bunch of my sites, and a bunch of other sites I visit. This can’t be good for anyone except Eolas – who’s making lots of money because of their patent. I’m not saying Eolas did anything wrong, but it certainly is annoying. Actually, according to the results, it looks like Microsoft was wrong and now they’re taking a big PR hit.
