I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

trying Movielink

Sitting @ home w/ a bad back, trying to stay busy working, and also not get stir crazy…

…enter Movielink.

I watched Mr. & Mrs. Smith earlier today.  Now I’m watching Unleashed.  I also tried a couple of the free trailers that they offer, just to show how the service works.  It doesn’t look like they have a ton of movies, but they have enough for the casual viewer like me who wants to watch something, and has decent bandwidth to be able to download.  I can also see this as a good alternative to DVD’s.  My Tablet PC doesn’t have a built in DVD player, so I’d have to rip DVD’s to my hard drive anyway, before I can watch them on the go.  Downloading is just as fast, or faster in many cases.

If I have any readers out there, do any of you ever download movies or use something like Netflix?

With stuff like this, it’s so easy to give gift cards.  I also do Napster for music and have been given some gift cards for that.  It’s simple and decent entertainment that is able to be tailored to the recipient’s tastes.

These sorts of services are all so much better here in 2006 than they were a few years ago.  They still need to get simpler.  We also have to have more bandwidth so that more people can do it.  That will drive the cost down more, when they can sell to more people.
