I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

9:45 AM – Maxine Clark, CEO and Founder of Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc.

High Touch meets High Tech?

Maxine took the really stinkin’ obvious approach.  She brought fun back into retail.  If the customers have fun, they spend more money.  Her talk is more inspiring than revealing.  I appreciate hearing any story like this where ideas have grown into productive systems.

Some take-aways I have from hearing her talk is that our market is always bigger than we think, and more than what we see right in front of us.  We need to reach out and touch our customers.  Having fun with business is special.  It doesn’t have to be drudgery.

How will I let this affect me?

Will I have more fun doing what I’m good at, and what I have opportunities to spend a lot of time doing?

My job is helping people.  That is fun.  It’s all a matter of perspective.
