I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

9:00 AM – Kevin Turner, COO of Microsoft

Kevin has worked for both Sam Walton and Bill Gates.  His history comes form starting as a cashier to work through college, and has migrated him through the ranks into his current position as the COO of Microsoft.

The words he’s using to describe what the vision he has are all around the idea that knowledge workers make systems work better.  The thing that I like is that it doesn’t sound like as much “hype” as they have with other things MS puts out.  The Small Business community needs the help (down here) not the theoretical stuff that most small business owners have trouble conceiving (up there).

They are pushing Office Live.  I’m using it in it’s beta via one of my domain names.

They are also pushing Small Business Server R2, that is to come out later this summer.  (Sorry, don’t have the link to that yet.  Hopefully I’ll remember to come back and update this later.)

“We’re committed to Small Business.” ~Kevin Turner, COO, Microsoft
