I write this blog. It does not represent anyone else's opinions or perspectives. Regardless of employers or clients or any other associations, this is my blog and it does not speak for anyone else. I have learned that perception is more powerful than reality. So, we get to experience the joys of claiming and disclaiming. Isn't that super!

the “searchosphere” – blog searches v. subscribing, or good homework?

In Doc Searls post Do as he says, also as I do to the Changing Way post Don’t Subscribe to Top Blogs, he mentions using searches v. subscribing and why that may work for him.  I agree – for him or for other more published, top bloggers.

However — for more newbies or people who don’t know who they want to follow or don’thave that much info out there of their own, subscribing to top bloggers is pretty significant and what I’d just consider to be good homework.  For me – I don’t know enough about as many topics to consider my own posts as valuable as they will be in a few more months or a few more years.  (That being said, “I” am not really the judge of how valuable my own posts are.)  In that way, for me – I think my subscriptions to top bloggers is giving them their props but also just me doing my homework.

I’m sure I’ll learn of more searching techniques – much like all the other hype about search in general, whether it be blog searching or Internet searching or the whole “searchosphere” as maybe it should be called.

Updated a few minutes later after realizing I may not be so unique in my thinking.  I found several other searchosphere references.  Oh well… living and learning…
